Professor Patrick Winston of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology gave a speach at Harvard on on how to talk. Here's what I will take along:
“Your careers will be determined largely by how well you speak, by how well you write and by the quality of your ideas in that order” - and intelligence in essence in buried in two systems: in our linguistic system and in our visual system!
Start with a promise: how will improve, where to get. Don’t use jokes to start
Apply the big 4
- 1 Cycle in on topic.. introduce it three, four time
- 2. Verbal punctuation: some mechanism when it is time to get back on board first, second
- 3. Near myth: a near miss concept, something that looks like it but isn’t. this is not an arch because, but almost… helps to establish boundaries
-4. Ask questions: frequent and answerable
Stop by delivering what you have promised in the start
